Licensing and machine access

Reading is free. Automated, bulk and AI use of the compilation is licensed. The machine-readable version of these terms is https://bgledger.com/license.xml (RSL), referenced from robots.txt.

Free, no permission needed

• Reading the pages and quoting individual figures with a link to the page.
• Linking to any page; indexing for web search that shows links to the source (Content Signal search=yes).
• Using the underlying official texts themselves — laws, decrees, gazette entries — which are public domain under Art. 4 of the Bulgarian Copyright Act (ЗАПСП). We claim no rights in them.

What is protected

The compilation — the selection, normalisation, cross-referencing, translations, explanatory notes and the structured database behind the pages and the API — is a database created with substantial investment and is protected under Directive 96/9/EC (sui generis database right) and the Bulgarian Copyright Act. Extracting or re-utilising a substantial part of it, systematically or in bulk, requires a licence.

AI crawlers and answer engines

• Search engines that link back: free.
• Use as input to AI answers (retrieval, grounding, summarisation): permitted against a per-request fee, payable through Cloudflare Pay Per Crawl / Pay Per Use, TollBit, or an API key. Prices are returned in the crawler-price header and listed in license.xml.
• Training of AI models on the compilation: not permitted without a separate written licence (Content Signal ai-train=no; text-and-data-mining rights reserved under Art. 4(3) of Directive 2019/790). Contact us.

API and data licences

The JSON API (documentation) is free for evaluation. Commercial, automated or high-volume use, bulk downloads and redistribution require a subscription or a data licence — write to data@bgledger.com.

Attribution

Where you republish figures under a licence, cite "BG Ledger (bgledger.com)" and the retrieval date, and keep the reference to the primary legal source shown on the page.
